Outboard, inboard and sterndrive repair in Orlando
Diagnosis first, then the repair. Outboards, inboards, I/O sterndrives and marine diesels, from a routine tune-up to a replacement long block.

What we work on
- Boats that won’t start, stall, or run rough: fuel, ignition, starters, sensors and wiring
- Overheating and cooling: water pump service, intakes, flushing
- Low oil pressure and internal engine work, up to replacing the long block
- Tune-ups, oil changes, valve adjustments and carburetor service
- Sterndrive and outdrive work: bellows, gimbal bearings, drive oil, shift cables, trim and tilt
- Steering and controls: hydraulic lines, control cables
- Marine diesel repair, including sailboat auxiliaries
Diagnosis before parts
A lot of engine problems that have been through other shops turn out to be one fault hiding behind another. One example is the cooling problem that wrecked an engine in the first place. Another is the cracked trim reservoir behind a fluid leak. We look for that before anything gets ordered, so the money goes into the actual fix.
“He replaced my bellows, gimbal bearing and found my trim reservoir was broken and that's why I was losing my fluid.”

That approach carries through bigger jobs, too. When Jeff McKenna’s 2009 Sea Ray 210 needed a replacement long block, the shop also traced what had caused the original failure.
“While doing the repair, they found a couple of issues causing the heat that caused the engine failure. He communicated will with pictures and discussion to explain the issues and the fixes […] They improved the water intake system and installed an engine flush kit so no more ear muffs and better flushing.”

Engines we see
Yamaha, Mercury and MerCruiser, Evinrude and Johnson, Volvo Penta, Suzuki and Honda, on outboards, inboards and I/O sterndrives. Evinrude E-TECs deserve a mention: several owners found us after other shops wouldn’t take them.
“Everyone I talked to said they don’t work on them or seemed to be scared of them. The call to Craigcat here in Orlando was the call I should have made to begin with. They recommended Eddie Quality Marine Repairs. Eddie was a class act. He knew these motors inside and out.”

What to expect
You get a quote before work starts. While the engine is apart you get updates, often with photos. Before pickup, the boat is water-tested, so the repair is proven under load and not just at the dock.
“They test drove the boat with a full working load on the motor. They really took the time to assess the issues and fix the root cause problem.”

Turnaround depends on the job and on parts. A low-oil-pressure problem that came in on a Thursday went home on Friday:
“My boat came in on Thursday 9/5 for a low oil pressure issue and was fixed, tested, and ready for pick up on 9/6.”
